Standard followed
The site aims to conform to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the standard adopted by GIGW 3.0. Pages are built with semantic HTML, landmark regions and heading hierarchies so that assistive technology can navigate them reliably.
Features provided
- Text resizing. The A− / A / A+ controls in the top bar change the size of all text. The layout is built in relative units, so the page reflows rather than text overflowing its container. Your choice is remembered.
- High contrast mode. The contrast button switches the site to a black background with yellow text, meeting the enhanced contrast ratios of WCAG 2.1 Level AAA for body text.
- Skip to main content. The first item reachable by Tab on every page jumps past the navigation.
- Keyboard navigation. Every menu, tab strip, table and interactive diagram can be operated without a mouse. Focus is always visible.
- Screen reader support. Images carry alternative text, tables use proper header cells, and changes such as a text-size adjustment are announced.
- Reduced motion. Animation is disabled automatically for visitors whose system requests reduced motion.
- Scalable content. The site remains usable at 200 % browser zoom.

Some material is published as PDF, which may not be fully accessible to every assistive technology. If you need a document in an accessible or alternative format, please request it through Contact Us and it will be supplied.
Known limitations
Content imported from the institute’s earlier website is being reviewed progressively. Some older tables and scanned documents may not yet meet the standard in full. Reports of specific problems are acted on.
