CMER&TI works through eleven units across seven states: the main institute at Lahdoigarh, three Regional Sericulture Research Stations, four Regional Extension Centres and a field laboratory, together with five farms totalling 59.60 acres. Three of those units sit outside the North East entirely — in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat — carrying eri culture into castor-growing states with no sericultural tradition.
