What is collected automatically

If you visit our site to read or download information, we collect and store only the following, and only in aggregate:

• The date and time of the visit and the pages viewed.
• An approximate, city-level location, used only for the Live Visitor Map. No street address or precise position is collected.

IP addresses are never stored. Where an address is needed to prevent the same visitor being counted repeatedly, it is passed through a one-way cryptographic hash and only the hash is kept — the original address cannot be recovered from it, by us or by anyone else.

Information you give us

If you choose to provide personal information — for example by sending feedback or an enquiry — it is used only to respond to you. It is not sold or shared with any third party, governmental or private, except where required by law. Questions typed into the site assistant are used to find an answer and are not stored against you.

Cookies and local storage

This site sets no tracking cookies and runs no advertising or analytics service. Your accessibility preferences — text size and contrast — are stored in your own browser so the site remembers them. That data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time through your browser.

Security

Reasonable technical and managerial measures are in place to protect the site and the limited information it holds. Data files are not directly reachable over the web and directory listings are disabled.
