Three Regional Sericulture Research Stations carry the institute’s research beyond Lahdoigarh. Each exists because a problem could not be solved from the main campus: Boko for the different agro-climate of lower Assam, Imphal because oak tasar is reared in Manipur and effectively nowhere else in the institute’s remit, and Begusarai to test whether ericulture transfers to the Gangetic plain at all.

Assam. Muga and eri research and extension for the lower Assam zone. Traces to the Regional Muga Research Station created in 1982.
- आरएसआरएस, इंफाल
Manipur. The oak tasar station — breed C27, Antheraea frithi rearing and grainage, the PET bottle uzi trap, tiger band disease control.
- आरएसआरएस, बेगूसराय
Bihar. The newest station and the only one outside the North East; eri culture in a non-traditional state.
